Writing Literature Reviews
Location: Writer's Studio, Room 411, 4th floor Central Library The "literature" of a literature review refers to any collection of materials on a topic. A review does not necessarily mean that your reader wants you to give your personal opinion on whether or not you liked these sources. This workshop will examine the criteria for literature reviews in various disciplines and in different writing assignments. Participants are encouraged to bring a sample literature review they have written and/or sources that can be used to begin writing an effective literature review.

X Japan
They've sold 30-million records and DVDs, filled the 55,000-seat Tokyo Dome a record-breaking 18 times, they pioneered "Visual-Kei," the Japanese music movement that helped spark the current Anime craze, and their leader has been referred to as "the Bono of Japan." But the one thing this Guns N' Roses meets-Queen-meets-'The-Matrix' rock group has wanted to do for years but has never done, is tour America. That's about to change, as X Japan will make a small seven-city North American trek. X Japan - Yoshiki (drums, piano), Toshi (vocals), Pata and Sugizo (guitars) and Heath (bass) - has its roots in the life-long friendship of Yoshiki and Toshi, who met when they were four years old. While still in high school, they formed the band, known at the time simply as "X," and over the next 13 years, X Japan released five studio albums as well as six live albums, 10 compilation albums and 15 video albums, and attained iconic status in Japan.

Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type
The animals on Farmer Brown's farm have had enough! They work all day to provide milk and eggs, but when their request for electric blankets to warm the drafty barn is ignored, action must be taken. Join the Cows, Hen, and Duck - and their trusty typewriter - as they engage in peaceful protest to improve their working conditions. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the publishing of Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type, Lifeline Theatre remounts this delightful musical adaptation, by the same team that brought 'Duck for President' and 'Dooby Dooby Moo.'

Rodney Carrington
Comedian Rodney Carrington takes on public posturing and the politically correct with his rambunctious combination of raw humor and country music. His 1998 debut, 'Hangin' With Rodney,' received the first explicit-lyrics sticker to be issued by a country-music label, and since then, his unrestrained observations and loose attitude have earned Carrington mass appeal.

Cat on A Hot Tin Roof
Raven Theatre's 2010-11 season begins with 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' by Tennessee Williams, directed by Michael Menendian. Big Daddy's birthday brings out the true colors of the wealthy Pollitt family. At the heart of the story is Maggie, the beautiful daughter-in-law, who struggles with a lack of emotional honesty from her husband, Brick, and with the judgment of Brick's brother and his wife. Lies, deception, false loyalty, and greed play characters as big as Big Daddy himself in one of Williams' most loved dramas. 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1955 and was made into a major motion picture in 1958.

26th RCI International Convention & Trade Show 2011
RCI, Incorporated is an international association of professional consultants, architects, and engineers who specialize in the specification and design of roofing, waterproofing and exterior wall systems. Since 1983 RCI members have offered unbiased design, repair planning, quality observance, legal testimony, and general roof management services. In March of 2006, RCI (formerly Roof Consultants Institute) expanded its mission and service scope to include waterproofing and exterior walls. This action reflects the understanding that roofing issues often influence the entire building envelope. It was discovered that in increasing frequency, RCI members are called upon to address building-wide concerns from below-grade to rooftop.
